Tossing to Sell Avon
I sell Avon but the brochure tossing tips can work for anyone wanting to learn how about makeup marketing. Though i've been selling Avon for fourteen years, I am fairly new to tossing. Its really something I never put much thought into. This year I really want to increase my goal. I thought I would try tossing since some of the other reps are having success in this area. I am trying really hard not to laugh. I want to share with other reps my experience with tossing for the first time.
Boy do I wish I had taken my children with me. We could have tossed on both sides of the road. They could have helped me look out for cars behind me. My plan was to toss brochures next to mailboxes on the ground but some of them went any and everywhere. lol :) I noticed that when I decreased my speed, that the books landed just where I needed them to. I drove too fast at times.
Something else I thought about doing is to just pick a nice neighborhood and go walking. There are two things I can accomplish at the same time, I can exercise, & toss.
Here are a few additional Brochure Tossing Tips
1. Use the clear literature bags just in case it rains.
2. Make sure you tie the tops of the bags or fold the open side to the inside of the brochure.
3. Keep your brochures very close to you as you are tossing.
4. Include recruiting flyers and the latest coupon codes for online shopping.
5. If you do not have clear bags, roll the brochures and use rubber bands.
6. Watch out for cars behind and in front of you. Toss in neighborhoods and not on main streets.
7. If you see people outside, smile, introduce yourself, & ask if you can leave them a brochure. Wear your Avon hat & shirt!
8. Toss in the same neighborhood at least 7 different times.
Bonus Tip
Toss 100 brochures or more in you can!
